I am powerful.
You are powerful.
We are powerful.
It is not the verity of these statements that cause the problem, it is in us truly believing them. When we love ourselves we simultaneously unleash our compassion - the power that comes from loving others. When compassion flows freely, all fears are defeated and there are no challenges or obstacles that cannot be overcome. But, it all starts with believing we are lovable, talented, worthy . . . POWERFUL. The poverty of lack in the world doesn't stand a chance of prevailing as soon as we overcome the poverty of spirit within us.
The following beautiful 3 minute video produced by CARE is directed at women, and rightly so since a huge obstacle in overcoming poverty of lack is greater respect and inclusivity of women. However, I think there is a message in this video for each of us . . . regardless of gender and regardless of being in the developing or developed worlds. Each of us, every single person, is valuable; and we can each look in the mirror and state unequivocally - "I am powerful."
